This week, for our 150th episode, we're presenting the audio from one of our live shows in London from early April. At the show we talk about our experiences traveling to England, including some bad experiences on an airplane. We discuss what we'd do if we could travel back in time and Tom presents some real life time travelers. Also, we do our world famous segment The Mundane Bucket List and do a very special live version of Tim and Tom Solve Your Problems.
This week we recount the career of TLC, a debate about how difficult it is or isn't to burn down a mansion, Snoop Dogg getting a pass on being a sell-out, a debate on what car Derek Jeter drives, Nike's R&D department, and condiments & selfishness. After this intro we talk about The Avengers and Tom explains who Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye are to Tim, plus we solve a problem with a roommate who eats too much.
This week we discuss g-g-g-g-ghosts!!!! From personal ghost experiences to scientific theories about ghosts, as well as more discussion about whether or not anyone's been murdered by a ghost. Also, Tom has a birthday hangover and Tim has a bunch of questions about a strange encounter.
This week we make history by recording our first-ever episode in London. Topics include depressing Sunday nights, surviving on nothing but booze and coffee for a week and the myth of jet lag. We talk about the differences between American and British Deal or No Deal, and deconstruct shows like The Cube, Countdown and Top Gear. We also discuss Home Alone at length, Tim tricks Tom into discussing The Real World: San Francisco, and the two answer a question about an overactive spam filter.
Tim and Tom discuss the upcoming live UK shows next week and explain how their packing-related procrastination led to them watching hours of the TV show Friends instead. Obviously The Rembrants are discussed at length, we find that a 12 year old Tim was early to the Friends bandwagon, question the motives behind The Rachel and solve a problem about an annoying co-worker.
This week Tom sets a motormouth world record and Tim doesn't know anything about boats despite venturing into international waters every week. The two discuss office lottery pools, just how much money lottery winners walk away with, how Tom selfishly tried to cheat his co-workers out of his lottery winnings and a man with scrambled brains on the news. Also, Tim tells a tale about ruining a film shoot and having a change of heart that may or may not have been a religious experience.
A discussion of things teenagers are interested in, The Hardy Boys, ghost murders, Tim goes to the mall and is appalled by teens being "provocative" and confident, a brief overview of the plot of The Hunger Games, comparing to Battle Royale and The Running Man, we discuss ideas on writing our own Young Adult novels, Twilight talk, SPOILERS: We then talk about the actual book.
